Little Doves specialises in creating unique one-off designs with its clients. But due to popular demand Little Doves has now created a selection of christening gowns and rompers for you to choose from.
The Classic Collection features a variety of styles. There are reproduction christening gowns from the Victorian and Edwardian period, and in contrast there are also more classic styles.
All the garments shown are available from 0 to 18 months. Once your order is placed, Little Doves will contact you for measurements of your baby. Your garment will then be created to fit those measurements. Unless otherwise requested your outfit will be created three weeks prior to the date of baptism.

New for 2008, this beautiful cotton lawn christening gown is ideal for the summer months. Based on a Victorian style this gown boasts a full skirt which contains layers and layers of pintucks, separated by pure cotton insert lace. The front panel is separated from the skirt with robings made of gathered cotton lace. These robings continue up the bodice and over the shoulders to form delicate lace sleeves. the bodice is heavily decorated with lace and the back has pintuck detail.
Typical of gowns of the Victorian era, this gown fastens with drawstrings around the neckline and waist, ensuring a perfect fit on your baby.

The best-selling romper for little boys. What makes this romper stand out from the crowd is the use of vintage trims on the bodice, sleeves and cuffs.
The Joseph Romper is made from 100% silk dupion with cotton vintage trimmings. A variety of trimming and pin tucks decorate the bodice front as well as matching silk covered buttons. A tiny collar compliments the design. This can either be created as a sailor style or Peter Pan style. -
The Rowan Gown is a stunning christening gown replicating the grandeur of the Victorian days. It is made from 100% fine cotton lawn and Swiss lace. The bodice has lovely Swiss lace panels bordered by contrasting Swiss lace robings, which continue over the shoulders and down the back bodice. The skirt is long and full with a centre panel comprising rows of Swiss lace and pintucking. The panel is edged with robings to compliment the bodice.
The sleeves can be long (as shown) or short. Both styles have lace trim and ribbon detail. -
An idyllic silk gown created to replicate the grandeur of the Edwardian era. Made from 100% silk habatoi, this gown oozes class. The overskirt has a wonderful hemline comprising a double row of cotton lace underneath three rows of tiny pintucks. Three vertical lace panels travel up the front of the skirt to the yokeband. The underskirt is edged in narrow lace. Both skirts join the yoke with tiny gathers.
The yoke follows the style of the skirt with vertical lace panels. The neck is finished off with a narrow lace trim. The three quarter length sleeves are softly gathered into the yoke and trimmed with a narrow lace edged cuff.

The Tegan Gown is a splendid christening gown reminiscent of the Edwardian period. It has a lovely feel of elegance and quality about it, from the short, puffed sleeves that gather into delicate lace trimmed cuffs, to the full skirt with its layers and layers of gathered frills.
The yoke and shoulders are made from bands of Swiss lace and finished with a delicate lace neck trim. Narrow pintucking detail decorates the back of the yoke. -
The most stunning christening gown ever created by Little Doves. This gown is grand yet understated at the same time. Made from the finest cotton lawn, the gown is decorated with a wonderful hand embroidered front panel containing four clusters of flowers. The panel is attached to the skirt with a fine white vintage braid and additional hand embroidery decorates the corners of the braiding. A large Swiss lace trim completes the skirt edging.
The small yoke is dainty and again simple in style but is made wonderful by the decorative hand embroidery and braid trim. The yoke is joined to the skirt by the guauging method, a Victorian hand sewn technique that ensures perfect and minute pleats are created. The sleeves are also simple in detail with small cuffs that compliment the plain neck detail. Pintuck pleats are featured on the back yoke to give some additional interest.

A splendid Victorian reproduction gown replicating the princess line style which dated around 1860. It is made from 100% fine cotton lawn and Swiss lace. The skirt is full and long with a front panel which is decorated with rows of pintucks and Swiss lace. This panel continues up the waist and into the bodice. The robings are full and edge to whole of the front panel. They continue over the shoulders and around the back of the sleeves.

The romper featured is made from 100% medium weight satin but a silk option is also available. The bodice design features fine pintuck detail with complimenting satin covered buttons. Little Doves began with the The Hemswell Gown. It was the first gown ever to be made and is the style is still a popular choice today, although customers do like variations to the silk and trim. The Hemswell Gown is made from 100% silk dupion with Nottingham lace trim. It is based on the styles of the Edwardian era when delicate yolks and horizontal panelling was the fashion.
The striking skirt comprises of pure silk dupion panels, handstitched with Nottingham lace layers to create a striking skirt. This is attached to a short bodice with matching lace detail. Small cap sleeves compliment the design.
